Chef

Elderly Care is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in our Cypress Gardens, Queensland aged care facility. This Part-time role (68 hours per fortnight) is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for our elderly residents in a caring and professional environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing and cooking a variety of meals, including special dietary requirements, for our elderly residents
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation
• Ordering and managing kitchen supplies and stock
• Collaborating with the care team to understand resident dietary needs and preferences
• Mentoring and supervising kitchen staff
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
• Assisting Chef Manager in delivering quality meals to residents

What we’re looking for

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Chef, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting
• Qualification: Current Food Safety Certificate and Cert ll or lll in Cookery
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutritious meal preparation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the care team
• Good organisational and time management abilities
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Passion for providing high-quality dining experiences for the elderly
