At Elderly Care, compassionate care is more than a philosophy, it’s something that is lived every day. For Jenny, Facility Manager Ashgrove, creating meaningful connections with residents, families and staff is at the heart of everything she does.
Since joining the residence in 2025, Jenny says it was the warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately stood out to her.

“I walked into the facility and fell in love with it,” she shares. “It’s such a beautiful place with a fantastic team.”
With more than 20 years of experience in aged care, Jenny brings a deep passion for resident well-being and creating a positive, supportive environment for everyone who walks through the doors. For her, the most rewarding part of the role is the opportunity to spend genuine time with residents and get to know them as individuals.
“It’s the relationships,” she says. “Getting to know residents, their stories, what makes them unique, and sharing moments of laughter and connection every day.”
Whether joining residents for word games in the café, chatting in the hair salon, or simply stopping to say hello while walking through the residence, Jenny believes the small moments are often the most important.
“I hope every day I make a difference to the people I come into contact with,” she says.
That sense of connection extends beyond residents to their families as well. Jenny believes aged care should always feel personal, warm and community-focused.
“I don’t think of people by room numbers,” she explains. “I know who they are, what they enjoy, and what’s important to them. That connection is so important.”
At Elderly Care compassionate care is at the centre of the residence culture. Jenny says while beautiful surroundings and modern facilities are important, compassionate care is what truly matters most.
“You can have the most beautiful building, but if the care isn’t there, that’s what matters,” she says. “Our team genuinely cares about every resident as an individual.”
This people-first approach is reflected in the residence’s long-standing and dedicated team members, many of whom have been part of the community since the residence first opened. From nurses and carers to hospitality, cleaning and lifestyle teams, every staff member plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
“Our staff are incredible,” Jenny says. “Everyone works together to make sure residents feel valued, respected and cared for every single day.”

With a strong sense of family, connection and compassion, Elderly Care continues to provide residents with a place they are proud to call home.
