Chief Operating Officer – Elderly Care

We are seeking an operationally focused Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our senior leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Executive officer, this is a pivotal role overseeing key business functions including workforce planning, financial performance, and operations. The role is office-based Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5pm) with supervision of staff a key responsibility.
Responsibilities of the role include:
· Manage multi-site operations across aged care facilities, ensuring service quality and efficiency.
· Analyse operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing adjustments.
· Oversee the workforce planning team, contributing to talent strategy and resource optimisation.
· Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with the finance team.
· Prepare monthly Board reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
· Drive continuous improvement in non-care services (including hospitality).
Required skills and experience:
· At least five years of demonstrated experience in the aged care sector, with a strong working knowledge of industry practices, standards, and relevant legislation.
· Good financial skills allowing analysis of a profit & loss report, and development of budgets.
· A track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams, with a strong focus on leadership capability and cultural alignment.
· Strong problem-solving and consultation skills.
· Results-oriented mindset for a focus on delivering outcomes.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
