We are currently recruiting for a Cook to work dedicated shifts across 7 days from 10:30am – 17:30pm in a part-time capacity.
The role:
Reporting to the Chef Manager, the Cook plays a crucial role in the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to our residents. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of food preparation, plating, and food service, ensuring the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and cooking of meals for residents that meet their varied and critically important dietary requirements and preferences.
- Ensure timely and efficient service during mealtimes, providing excellent customer service to residents.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to safe food handling practices and HACCP guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the Chef Manager and kitchen team to ensure a smooth food preparation and service operation.
- Demonstrate flexibility to step up and undertake cooking responsibilities in the absence of the Chef Manager.
- Ensure you are well versed in the current Work Health and Safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
About you:
- Previous experience working in a bulk catering role within an aged care or healthcare environment.
- Competency in food preparation, plating, and serving, with a focus on delivering high-quality meals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, that demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to connect and demonstrate empathy with the Residents.
- Flexibility to support the team and backfill leave absences.
- Up to date with all food safety requirements.
